Common HVAC Problems

Here is a list of some common problems HVAC systems can experience

Whether we recognize it or not heating and cooling systems have a major role in our modern world. In fact, without them we would all notice a huge change in the way we live and think about our homes. Because of this, broken HVAC systems are immediately noticed. Below are some basic problems you may be facing with your HVAC system in your Peachtree City home or business.

1. Fuses get blown from time to time on heating & air systems.
A fuse is an important part for on a HVAC unit. The fuse will protect the motor and even the compressor from being overheated.

2. The contactors are, or one of the contactors is, worn down.
A HVAC unit will have 3 contactors. They have a contactor for the condensor motor fan, the compressor, and the motor for the blower. The main role of these contactors is to make an electrical connection to start the motors and compressor. If these contactors are worn down the connection can be non-existent or weak which will make it hard for the compressor or motors to start.

3. Your filter is dirty or completely clogged.
Do not let your filters go unchanged over their due date! There are all types of filters and all of them have one main job, filter the air. As they perform their job they naturally get full of dirt and debris. If they are too full, then less and less air passes through them. This will make your system be inefficient and cause your system to work harder than it has to which will decrease the life of your system.

Replacing air filters isn’t hard and should be done on time, every time. With our maintenance plan, we do that for you so that your system gets the most life possible and so that you don’t risk the chance of forgetting.

4. The Thermostat is Broken.
Thermostats are really important for your homes air systems. The thermostat is what will tell your air system to come on or shut off. If it isn’t working right, then your system won’t know when to turn on or when to shut off.

However, most of the time the fault isn’t in the thermostat but the user. Make sure it is set right.

5. HVAC systems have drains and yours might be clogged.
Depending on where your HVAC system is centrally located a clogged drain could mean major repairs for your home. Clogged drains can leak and create a lot of water damage, especially if your air system is in your attic.

Don’t let your drain lines get or stay clogged. Again this is another small thing that our HVAC Maintenance program handles for you so that you don’t have an emergency on your hands down the road.
